John Foreman (producer)

John Foreman John C. Foreman ( born July 26, 1925 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, † 20 November 1992 in Beverly Hills, California ) was an American film producer. He became internationally known through the production of feature films Two bandits, That was Roy Bean, The Man Who Would Be King or Prizzi's Honor.

Life and career

John Foreman, born in 1925 in Idaho Falls, served as a soldier during the Second World War in the United States Navy. After the war Foreman first taught at Stevens College in Columbia, Missouri, later he began his career in the film business in Hollywood. In addition to his talent agency Foreman founded in the late 1960s, the production company, Newman - Foreman Productions. His friendship with the actor Paul Newman in 1969 brought two successful films produced, the racer movie Indianapolis and the Oscar-winning Western Two bandits with Paul Newman as Butch Cassidy and Robert Redford in the role of the Sundance Kid. The film won four Oscars and John Foreman received an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. Foreman died on 20 November 1992 at the age of 67 years in Beverly Hills, California on the consequences of a heart attack. His grave is located at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

The actress Amanda Foreman (born 1966 ) is the daughter from his marriage to the actress Linda Lawson.
