John Frazier

John R. Frazier ( born September 23, 1944 in Richmond, California, USA) is an American special effects artist who has worked in numerous film and television productions. He was awarded for Spider -Man 2 with the Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2005.

Life and work

John Frazier grew up in Los Angeles where he attended Canoga Park High School. At Los Angeles Trade- Technical College, he studied then building and road.

With a commitment to the nightclub Haunted House Frazier came for the first time with special effects in contact when he worked there in the prop. The owner of the club then gave him 1963 on NBC. From 1970, Frazier was involved in more than seventy film productions at the special effects, and later in a managerial capacity. He now lives in Los Angeles and is actively involved in several ongoing productions (as of 2009 ).

Awards

John Frazier was indeed nominated nine times for an Oscar, but received in 2005 the award in the category Best Visual Effects for Spider -Man 2 were a total of about 25 nominations for major film awards such as the Oscar, Saturn Award, BAFTA Award, VES Award or Golden Satellite Award.
