John Gower

John Gower (c. 1330 in Kent, † 1408 in London ) was an English writer.

Gower was a close friend Geoffrey Chaucer, but never reached its literary entity. Gower wrote in French the extensive didactic poem MIROUR de l' Omme and in Latin allegory Vox Clamantis. The Confessio Amantis, a collection of rhymed love stories, Gower published in English.

At the age of almost 80 years died John Gower in 1408 in London.
