John H. Hubbard
John Hamal Hubbard (* October 1945 ) is an American mathematician.
Hubbard received his doctorate in 1973 at the University of Paris-Sud in Adrien Douady ( Sur les sections analytiques de la courbe de universal Teichmüller ). He is a professor at Cornell University. At the same time he is I. at the University of Provence Aix -Marseille
He deals with differential equations, differential geometry, iteration of polynomial maps ( Mandelbrot set ) and dynamics in several complex variables. He worked in France in particular with Adrien Douady together. For example, both proved that the Mandelbrot set is connected.
