John Haberle

John Haberle (* 1856 in New Haven, Connecticut; † February 3, 1933 ) was an American painter of the 19th century, who had focused mainly on optical illusions. He was known for his depictions of paper money. Although he had been warned by the Secret Service, the Intelligence Service of the United States therefore, he continued to paint remarkably genuine banknotes in his pictures.

The style Haberles is known that he has neither so precise structured as William Michael Harnett still as colorful worked like John Frederick Peto which are next to him as the main exponent of this style in the late 19th century. Haberle, who has also worked as an engraver, is known for his technically very well-implemented compilations and for but humorous elements in his paintings.
