John Hegley

John Hegley ( born October 1, 1953) is an English poet, whose poems have been published both in book form and on the radio in the UK. He was born in London but spent his childhood mostly in Luton. He has an academic degree at the University of Bradford.

Hegley has French ancestry ( his father's name was René ), and it is believed that his family is related to the composer Jean -Philippe Rameau. Prior to his career as a poet, he headed comedy group Popticians, the 1984 two sessions for John Peel box office, and occasionally with Hegley goes on tour.
