John Hora

John Charles Hora ( born February 16, 1940 in Pasadena, California) is an American cinematographer.

Life

John Charles Hora was born the son of an amateur photographer who studied at the Art Center School of Design, and the grandson of a photographer from Missouri. He studied at the film school of the University of Southern California. He made his debut in 1973 as a self-responsible camera man with the biopic Maurie. In his career he worked in particular as a cameraman for the U.S. film director Joe Dante. The collaboration includes the feature films The animal, Twilight Zone, Gremlins - Small monsters, Gremlins - Small monsters, Explorers - A fantastic adventure and matinee.

Since 1985 Hora is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and since 2005 honorary for the house magazine American Cinematographer. He also worked occasionally as a guest lecturer for the Los Angeles Film School.
