John Hull Campbell

John Hull Campbell ( born October 10, 1800, York, Pennsylvania, † January 19, 1868 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. From 1845 to 1847 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

About the youth and education of John Campbell, nothing is handed down. After studying law and his 1823 was admitted as a lawyer, he started working in Philadelphia in this profession. Later, he embarked on a political career. In 1831 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Pennsylvania.

In the congressional elections of 1844 Campbell was a candidate of the American party in the third electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John T. Smith on March 4, 1845. Since he resigned in 1846 to further candidacy, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1847. This was marked by the events of the Mexican-American War.

After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives John Campbell again practiced as a lawyer. He died on January 19, 1868 in Philadelphia.
