John IV, Duke of Bavaria

John IV of True (* October 4, 1437 in Munich, † November 18, 1463 in Hart Hausen ) was the eldest son of Duke Albrecht the Pious of Bavaria- Munich and his wife Anna of Brunswick- Grubenhagen. He took over in accordance with the will of his father in 1460 and his brother Sigismund, the government of Bavaria- Munich. Shortly thereafter, however, he died of the plague. Then, the third oldest surviving son Albrecht returned home from Pavia, where he had a religious career should take, and took over the co-regency.

John IV is buried beside his father in the monastery of Andechs Abbey.
