John IV, Duke of Krnov

John IV of Jägerndorf (also John III of Opava - Ratibor; . Czech January Krnovský IV; * 1440, † 1483 in Loslau ) was from 1452 until the expropriation by Matthias Corvinus in 1474 Duke of Jägerndorf 1464 until his death in 1483 Duke of Loslau. Life

John IV was the elder son of Duke Nicholas V of Jägerndorf and Ratibor, who was an enemy of the Hussites. Since he and his younger brother Wenceslas when her father 's death in 1452 were not yet of age, they were initially under the tutelage of her uncle Wenceslas Ratibor († 1456 ), and her stepmother Barbara Rockenberg.
