John J. Feely

John Joseph Feely (* August 1, 1875 in Wilmington, Will County, Illinois, † February 15, 1905 in Chicago, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1901 and 1903 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Feely attended the common schools and then studied until 1895 at the Niagara University in New York. After a subsequent law degree from Yale University and his 1897 was admitted to the bar he began in 1898 to work in Chicago in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career.

In the congressional elections of 1900, Feely was in the second electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of William Lorimer on March 4, 1901. Since he resigned in 1902 to further candidacy, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1903. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives John Feely again practiced as a lawyer. He died on February 15, 1905 in Chicago at the age of only 29 years.
