John Joseph Paul

John Joseph Paul ( born August 17, 1918 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA; † 5 March 2006) was bishop of La Crosse.

Life

John Joseph Paul received on January 24, 1943 Bishop William Richard Griffin, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On 17 May 1977, he was named by Pope Paul VI. Titular Bishop of Lambaesis and auxiliary bishop in La Crosse. The Bishop of La Crosse, Frederick William Freking, donated to him on August 4 of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Rockford, Arthur Joseph O'Neill, and Bishop Mark Francis Schmitt of Green Bay.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 14 October 1983, Bishop of La Crosse. On December 5 of that year he was introduced to the office.

On December 10, 1994 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation age-related.
