John Lee Mahin

John Lee Mahin ( born August 23, 1902 in Evanston, Illinois, † 18 April 1984 in Santa Monica, California ) was an American screenwriter.

Life

John Lee Mahin worked after studying at Harvard as a reporter. The screenwriter Ben Hecht mediated contacts to the film industry and already had their first collaboration with the film Scarface. a great success. In the following years Mahin was committed without name in the credits as a script doctor to revise screenplays of other authors, such as for Gone with the Wind. In the McCarthy era, Mahin actively participated in the elimination of alleged communist influence in the film industry. From 1937 to 1946 he was married to the silent film star Patsy Ruth Miller.
