John Letts (tennis)

John Letts ( born May 11, 1964 in Houston, Texas ) is a former American professional tennis player.

Life

Letts studied at Stanford University, where he twice won the NCAA championship with the team and was elected twice to the best selection of All-American. In 1986 he was a professional tennis player, and won his only doubles title on the ATP World Tour in the same year. The previous year, he had won his first doubles tournament on the ATP Challenger Tour. Throughout his career, he won six Challenger doubles titles, he also stood three times in the final of an ATP tournament. In the individual competition, he was less successful, his best result was the quarter- finals at Challengerturnier, 1988 in San Luis Potosí. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1988 with position 244 in single and in 1986 with position 69 in doubles.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the second round of Australian Open 1987. 's Doubles competition he came also at the Australian Open 1986 to the quarter-finals.

Letts 1992 played his last tournament on the tour.
