John Logan (writer)

John Logan ( * September 24 1961 in San Diego, California) is an American author and screenwriter.

Life

Logan studied until 1983 at Northwestern University in Chicago and then wrote numerous plays for the Chicago theater groups, including Never the Sinner (1985 ), Captain (1986 ), Music From A Locked Room (1989 ), Riverview: A Melodrama With Music (1991 ), Scorched Earth ( 1991) and The View from Golgotha ​​(1996). His play Red about the painter Mark Rothko was premiered in London in 2009 and received the following year, the Tony Award.

Since the mid- 1990s, he has also worked as a screenwriter. His debut was in 1996 with the film Logan Tornado! . Among his best known films Gladiator ( 2000) and Star Trek: Nemesis ( 2002).
