John M. Zwach

John Matthew Zwach ( born February 8, 1907 Gales Township, Redwood County, Minnesota, † 11 November 1990) was an American politician. Between 1967 and 1975 he represented the state of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Zwach attended the public schools of his home and thereafter until 1926, the Milroy High School. After he was trained until 1927 at the Mankato State College for Teachers. Subsequently, he studied until 1933 at the University of Minnesota. Politically Zwach was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1934 and 1946 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Minnesota. Then he sat 1946-1966 in the State Senate; From 1959 he led there, the Republican faction. His main job was working as a teacher and farmer. For 14 years John was Zwach school board.

In the congressional elections of 1966 Zwach was in the sixth constituency of Minnesota in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Alec G. Olson on January 3, 1967. After three re- elections, he was able to complete in Congress until January 3rd, 1975 four related legislative periods. In this time, among other things, the Watergate scandal that shook the political America fell.

In 1974, John Zwach renounced another candidacy. Then he withdrew into retirement, which he spent in Lucan. He died on 11 November 1990.
