John McColl

John Chalmers McColl ( born April 17, 1952) is a Major General in the British Army and currently representative of the British Monarchy in Jersey.

Life

His first stop was the village school at Culford Bury St Edmunds. 1973 began his military career in the infantry. In 1989 he commanded a squadron of the Royal Tank Regiment. In 2000 he took command of the British 3rd Infantry Division. 2001/ 02 he was the commander of ISAF. After subsequent promotions and positions, he became General in 2007 and headed the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe until 2011. 2008 he was awarded the Order of the Bath.
