John Meehan (screenwriter)

John Meehan ( born May 8, 1890 in Lorraine, Ontario, Canada, † November 12, 1954 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter Canadian descent.

Life

Shortly after his birth moved John Meehan family of Lorraine to Lindsay, Ontario. After graduating from high school, he moved to Austria, where he attended the Heinrich -von- Gerkenstein school. He then moved to the U.S. and began in Hollywood as a screenwriter. In his 20 - year career, he has written numerous screenplays and stage plays.

On November 12, 1954 John Meehan passed away in Woodland Hills, a suburb of Los Angeles.

Awards

John Meehan was nominated twice in the category Best Screenplay for Oscars but could not win it. In 1930 the nomination for the woman for all ( The Divorcee ), 1939 for Boys Town (Boys Town).
