John Michael Sherlock

John Michael Sherlock ( born January 20, 1926 in Regina ) is retired bishop of London.

Life

John Michael Sherlock received on 3 June 1950, and was ordained priest incardinated in the Clergy of the Diocese of Hamilton. Pope Paul VI. appointed him auxiliary bishop on 25 June 1974 in London and Titular Bishop of Macriana in Mauretania.

The Bishop of Hamilton, Paul Francis Reding, gave him on 28 August of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Philip Francis Pocock, Archbishop of Toronto, and Joseph Francis Ryan, Bishop Emeritus of Hamilton.

On 7 July 1978 he was appointed Bishop of London and was introduced on 21 August of the same year into office. On April 27, 2002 John Paul II accepted his resignation due to age.
