John Nicholson (cyclist)

John Nicholson ( born June 22, 1949 in Melbourne ) is an Australian former racing cyclist and two-time world champion.

1972 won John Nicholson, who had been four years earlier participated in the Olympic Games in Mexico City, a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Munich in the sprint behind Daniel Morelon.

1974 Nicholson stepped over to the professionals. In the same year he was at the UCI Track World Championships in Montreal vice-world champion in sprint and finally in the following two years each world champion. Twice, he was named Australian sprint champion and 1977 third in the Grand Prix de Paris.

Today John Nicholson is the cycling still connected as president of the Melbourne " Blackburn Cycling Club ".
