John of Hesse-Braubach

Johann von Hessen- Braubach ( born June 17, 1609 Darmstadt, † April 1, 1651 at Ems ) was Landgrave of Hesse - Braubach and commander.

Life

Landgrave Johann was the son of Landgrave Louis V of Hesse-Darmstadt and his wife Magdalena, daughter of Elector Johann Georg of Brandenburg and is one of the house of Hesse.

After his training he undertook with his much younger brother Frederick of Hesse -Darmstadt the obligatory Cavalierstour, which took him through France and Italy. From 1 August 1627 to March 2, 1628, he worked as Consiliar the German nation at the University of Siena.

In 1647 he married Johannette ( Johanna ) of Sayn- ​​Wittgenstein ( 1632-1701 ), the daughter of the Count of Sayn -Wittgenstein and Louise Juliane of Erbach. The marriage remained childless. At the age of 42 years John Landgraf von Hessen- Braubach died on April 1, 1651 in Bad Ems.
