John P. Hiler

John Patrick Hiler ( born April 24, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American politician. Between 1981 and 1991 he represented the State of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Hiler attended La Lumiere High School in La Porte (Indiana) until 1971. Subsequently, he studied until 1975 at Williams College in Williamstown (Massachusetts), where he graduated as a Bachelor, and until 1977, where he received an MBA from the School of Business at the University of Chicago. He then worked as a marketing director. Politically, Hiler joined the Republican Party. In the years 1978 and 1980 he was a delegate to the regional Republican party days in Indiana.

In the congressional elections of 1980, Hiler was in the third electoral district of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of John Brademas on January 3, 1981. After four elections he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 1991 five legislative sessions. In 1990, he defeated Democrat Timothy J. Roemer.

In the years 1991 and 1993 was John Hiler Deputy Administrator of the General Services Administration; after he retired from politics. Today, he works as a private businessman.
