John Phillips (politician)

John Phillips ( * in Chester County, Pennsylvania ) was an American politician. Between 1821 and 1823 he represented the State of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Neither the birth nor the exact birthplace of this politician have survived. The same is true for his death dates. Also about his youth and schooling, as well as his professional career is not known. It is merely noted that he received a limited education. Phillips was a member of the founded by Alexander Hamilton in the 1790s Federalist Party. In the congressional elections of 1820 he was in the third electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of James M. Wallace on March 4, 1821. Until March 3, 1823, he was able to complete a term in Congress. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives lose track of him.
