John Pond

John Pond ( * 1767 in London, † September 7, 1836 in Blackheath, London ) was an English astronomer.

Pond in 1811 director of the Greenwich Observatory, and thus the (sixth ) Astronomer Royal ( Astronomer Royal).

In 1823 he was awarded the Copley Medal.
