John Poyner

John Poyner is a British editor and sound engineer, who in 1968 won the Oscar for best sound effects.

Life

Poyner began his career in the film industry in 1955 as an editor for the movie Richard III. and worked after 1963 as a sound engineer. He previously served on the production of 65 films.

At the Academy Awards in 1968, he was awarded the Oscar for best sound effects, specifically for The Dirty Dozen (1967 ) by Robert Aldrich starring Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes and Ernest Borgnine in the lead roles.

After about five ten -year break from the movie business Poyner is currently working as a sound engineer and consultant at the making of the film Katherine of Alexandria, which is directed by Michael Redwood with the main actors Nicole Madjarov, Peter O'Toole and Steven Berkoff and 2012 to run in theaters.
