John R. Foley

John Robert Foley ( born October 16, 1917 in Wabasha, Minnesota, † 11 November 2001 in Kensington, Maryland ) was an American politician. Between 1959 and 1961 he represented the state of Maryland in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Foley visited in his birthplace until 1935 Wabasha St. Felix High School. Then he studied until 1940 at St. Thomas College in Saint Paul. During the Second World War, he served 1941-1946 in the U.S. Army. After a subsequent law degree from the Catholic University and Georgetown University in the capital city Washington DC and his 1950 was admitted to the bar he began to work in this profession. Then he occupied himself legal lectures. Between 1954 and 1958, Judge Foley was the guardianship court in Montgomery County in Maryland. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. In 1956, he ran unsuccessfully for Congress yet.
