John R. Goodin

John Randolph Goodin ( born December 14, 1836 in Tiffin, Ohio, † December 18, 1885 in Kansas City, Kansas ) was an American politician. Between 1875 and 1877 he represented the state of Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

In 1844, John Goodin moved with his father to Kenton, Ohio. There he graduated from high school. He also attended the Geneva College. After studying law and its made ​​in 1857 admitted to the bar he began in Kenton to work in his new profession. In 1859 he moved to Humboldt, Kansas.

Goodin was a member of the Democratic Party. In 1866 he was elected to the House of Representatives from Kansas. From 1868 to 1876 was Judge Goodin in the seventh judicial district of his state. In the congressional elections of 1874, which were held all across the state, he was a candidate of his party in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he met on March 4, 1875 the successor of Stephen A. Cobb. Since he was not confirmed in the elections of 1876, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1877.

After his time in Congress, John Goodin published the newspaper " Interstate " in Humboldt out. He died in December 1885 in Kansas City and was also buried there.
