John R. Schmidhauser

John Richard Schmid Hauser ( born January 3, 1922 in the Bronx, New York City ) is a retired American politician and university professor. Between 1965 and 1967 he represented the state of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

After attending primary school Schmid Hauser took as a soldier of the U.S. Navy in the Second World War. Then he studied until 1949 at the University of Delaware in Newark and then to 1954 at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, among other philosophy. Since 1954 to 1965 he lectured at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. There he was hired as a professor.

Politically, Schmid Hauser joined the Democratic Party. In 1964 he became the first electoral district of Iowa in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC selected. There he entered on January 3, 1965 to the succession of Republican Fred dick, he had beaten at the polls. But as he again lost to dick in the following elections in 1966, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until January 3, 1967.

After the end of his time in the House of Representatives was John Schmid Hauser 1967-1973 again working as a professor at the University of Iowa. In 1972, he unsuccessfully sought the nomination of his party for the congressional elections. Between 1973 and 1992, he was then a professor at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. There he is to this day as a professor emeritus. In the 1980s, Schmid Hauser held, alongside his work in Los Angeles for a short time at various other universities lectures.
