John Rennie (editor)

John Rennie ( b. 1959 in Boston) is an American science writer. Since the end of 1994, he is the seventh editor in chief of Science magazine Scientific American.

Rennie made ​​the 1981 bachelor's degree in biology at Yale University and then worked for several years as a researcher at Harvard Medical School before he began his career as a science journalist. He wrote and edited articles on biology, technology and medicine. As early as 1998 he was a member of the Board of Editors of Scientific American.

Rennie took a few years to improvisation in theaters in New York and in his hometown of Boston.

The Council of Scientific Society Presidents honored Rennie in 2000 with the Sagan Award for Public Understanding of Science. In 2004, the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies awarded him the Navigator Award for important contributions to promoting the importance of science and technology in the United States.
