John S. Herrington

John Stewart Herrington ( born May 31, 1939 in Los Angeles ) is a former American politician, who was the Cabinet of President Ronald Reagan during his second term as Secretary of Energy.

A native of California Herrington made ​​1961 his undergraduate degree at Stanford University; three years later he graduated from the Law School of the University of California as a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Laws. He worked from 1965 to 1981 as an attorney in his own law firm in San Francisco, as well as deputy district attorney in Ventura County.

1981 began his political career with his appointment as Deputy Secretary Navy, where he stayed until 1983 before he took over the post of Deputy Assistant for Presidential Personnel in the Executive Office. 1985 with a clear majority in office confirmed President Reagan appointed him to his cabinet.
