John Squire

John Squire (* November 24, 1962 in Broadheath, Lancashire ) is a British rock musician and painter.

From 1984 to 1996, Squire guitarist of the band The Stone Roses, one of the most important bands of the Madchester movement.

Career

John Squire was born on 24 November 1962 in Broadheath, Lancashire. At the age of 13, he became friends with Ian Brown, with whom he later founded the punk band The Patrol some time.

In 1984, Squire and Brown founded together with Andy Couzens, Pete Garner and Simon Wolenscroft the Stone Roses.

Squire rose in 1996 from when the Stone Roses and Seahorses founded the band with which he, however, only recorded one album. After the dissolution of 1999 seahorses Squire founded with Simon Jones ( bass ) ( ex- The Verve ), Duncan Baxter (vocals ) and the last Seahorses drummer Mark Heaney a new band, which eventually became The Shining. However, Squire rose a year later again.

Since then, Squire is now working to this day as a solo artist. Besides music, Squire is active as an artist in other ways. Inter alia he designed the covers of the albums and singles of his band itself
