John Stachel

John Stachel ( born March 29, 1928) is an American physicist and science historian.

Sting his doctorate in 1958 on a subject of general relativity at Stevens Institute of Technology. After teaching positions at Lehigh University, the University of Pittsburgh, he came 1964 on the Boston University where he was a professor of physics until his retirement.

Sting has become known primarily works on the history of the theory of relativity and Albert Einstein. He is co-editor of the Collected Works of Einstein ( in 1987 by Princeton University Press) and director of Boston University's Center for Einstein Studies. Thu Howard he publishes the book series Einstein Studies.
