John Story (businessman)

John Story ( born 1946 in Australia) is an Australian lawyer and since 2009, chancellor of the University of Queensland.

Life

John Story is the grandson of one of the most well-known officials of the State Government of Queensland and the first Vice - Chancellor of the University of Queensland, John Douglas Story. After studying law at the University of Queensland story was as a lawyer - especially in the Australian law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth - working with the fields of corporate law and business law. After serving as Managing Partner and CEO of the firm Story left the firm in 2006 and has focused increasingly on the way already been applied field. These included his activities as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tabcorp and Suncorp Metway, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the construction company CSR.

Besides his work as a lawyer and businessman story taught as a lecturer at the TC Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland and was a member of the Senate of the University since 2006. On February 19, 2009 John Story was appointed Chancellor of the University of Queensland in 2012 and confirmed in his post.
