John Sulston

Sir John Edward Sulston ( born March 27, 1942 in Cambridge, United Kingdom) is a British biologist. In 2002 he was awarded with Sydney Brenner and H. Robert Horvitz received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine " for their research in the field of genetic regulation of organ development and programmed cell death ."

Life

Sulston showed an early interest in science. With the help of a scholarship at a private school in Northwood, he earned his degree in biology, physics and chemistry. In 1960, he then began his studies, again on a scholarship at the University of Cambridge. In 1963 he graduated from there with a Bachelor, 1966, he received his Ph. D.

Sulston is married and has two children.
