John Taylor (racing driver)

John Taylor ( born March 23, 1933, Leicester, East Midlands, † September 8, 1966 in Koblenz ) was an English Formula 1 racing driver.

Taylor drove a total of five Formula 1 races. He played his first race on July 11, 1964 at the Grand Prix of Great Britain for the team FR Gerard Cars with a Cooper. With the other four races, all in the season in 1966, he launched the David Bridges team with a Brabham BT11; Grand Prix of France, he brought a championship point for David Bridges.

John Taylor was launched in August 1966 at the Grand Prix of Germany at the Nürburgring. Already in the first round he collided at the section " airfield " with the Matra of the Belgian Jacky Ickx. Taylor's vehicle took off, slid down an embankment and caught fire. Ickx, who freed Taylor was able to continue the race. Taylor was initially taken to hospital in Adenau and moved shortly thereafter to the hospital Evangelical pin in Koblenz. Four weeks after the accident, when he already seemed to recover, Taylor died of burns infection.

Taylor was married and had a son.
