John van Loen

John van Loen ( born February 4, 1965 in Utrecht ) is a former Dutch football player.

He began his career in 1983 at his hometown club FC Utrecht. From 1988-1990 he played for Roda JC Kerkrade. In the 1990/91 season he was at RSC Anderlecht under contract. A season later, he was until 1993 at Ajax Amsterdam. In 1993 he went to Feyenoord Rotterdam. 1995, he moved to Japan to Sanfrecce Hiroshima. In 1996 he moved back to his hometown club FC Utrecht. His career ended in 1999 with APOEL Nicosia.

For the Dutch national football team, he played seven games. He scored a goal.

Van Loen was called because of his red hair Red Baron and lighthouse.

Today he works as an assistant coach at FC Utrecht and plays for an amateur club in IJsselstein.
