John Waite

John Charles Waite ( born July 4, 1952 in Lancaster ) is a British rock singer, bassist and songwriter. His biggest hit was the 1984 single Missing You.

Career

1976 John Waite was a founding member of the British band The Babys and became its lead singer. In 1981, the group split up. Waite began his solo career with the 1982 album Ignition, from which the single Change was disengaged. The second album, No Brakes, made ​​him known internationally. It contained the hit Missing You, which made ​​it to # 1 on the U.S. charts, but also in Europe reached high chart entries. Until 1987 published two more albums, Mask of Smiles and Rovers Return, which contained several successful singles.

1988 Waite broke his solo career to hire as lead singer of the newly formed band Bad English, which also includes Journey guitarist Neal was already.
