John Wesley Shipp

John Wesley Shipp ( born January 22, 1955 in Norfolk, Virginia ) is an American actor.

Career

John Wesley Shipp already knew very early on that he wanted to be an actor. Therefore, he studied in New York City spectacle. He also participated in several auditions and got as 1980, the role of Kelly Nelson on the soap The Guilding Light ( Guiding Light ). From 1985 to 1986 he starred as Doug Cummings in the running since 1956 Drama Series As The World Turns.

In 1987 he received a Daytime Emmy Award. In the following years he played at Santa Barbara (1987) and One Life to Live (1988). One of his most successful roles Barry Allen aka Flash finally he played from 1990 to 1991 in the series The Flash. He played the father of Bastian Bux in "The Neverending Story II - In Search of Fantastica " (1990).

After many guest appearances followed in various series like NYPD Blue ( 1994), Sisters ( 1994-1995) or Strangers ( 1996). A younger audience, he was known for his role in Dawson 's Creek. There, he played the father of the main character Dawson. Shipp has appeared in 32 episodes of the U.S. hit series to his character died in season 5.

After Dawson 's Creek, he took over some parts in TV movies and TV series. In 2005 he took a longer-term role in the series Palmetto Pointe, in which he is seen with his former Dawson 's Creek co-star Nina Repeta.
