John Zimmerman (figure skater)

John Luther Zimmerman IV (* November 26, 1973 in Birmingham, Alabama ) is a former American figure skater, who started pair skating.

He started at the age of three years with the ice skating. His first figure skating partner was in 1994 and 1995 Brie Teaboldt, from 1995 to 1998, he took up with Stephanie Stiegler. In 1997, he won her the bronze medal at the U.S. Championships and therefore little later denied his first World Championship, which he finished with Stiegler on the 15th Place. Coach of the two was Peter Oppegard.

From 1998, Kyoko Ina Zimmerman became a partner. They trained at Tamara Moskvina and Igor Moskvin her husband in Hackensack, New Jersey. In the years 2000 to 2002 Zimmerman and Ina were U.S. champion in pair skating. In 2000, she won the silver medal at the Four Continents Championships and the bronze medal in 2001. Their greatest success was winning the bronze medal at the 2002 World Championships in Nagano. The 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City ended the couple on the fifth place. 2003 changed Zimmerman and Ina to the pros and ran at the ice show Stars on Ice.
