Johnnie Carson

Johnnie Carson ( born April 7, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American diplomat.

Life

1965 Johnnie Carson acquired the B. A. history and political science at Drake University. Until 1975 he studied International Relations at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and graduated with a Master of Arts. From 1965 to 1968 he worked for the Peace Corps in Tanzania.

1968 Carson joined the Foreign Service. From 1969 to 1971 he was accredited in Nigeria. From 1971 to 1974 he was employed by the intelligence service in the Defense of the United States. From 1975 to 1978 he was accredited in Mozambique. From 1978 to 1979 Carson served as a staff officer at a Secretary of State. From 1979 to 1982 he was staff director of the Africa Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives. From 1982 to 1986 Carson was accredited in Portugal, 1986-1990 in Botswana. From 1997 to 1999 he was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Carson in the African Department of the U.S. State Department. From 2003 to 2006, Carson Vice President of the National Defense University in Washington. From September 2006 to March 2009 was sitting in the Carson National Intelligence Council. In March 2009, Barack Obama Johnnie Carson appointed Secretary of State for African Affairs ( Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs ). Carson is married, has three children and lives in Reston.
