Johnny Klimek

Johnny Klimek ( born August 18, 1962 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian film composer, record producer and musician.

Life

After he came in 1983 from Australia to Berlin, he founded here along with his twin sister and his brother Alf Jayney the band The Other Ones.

Early and mid- 1990s, Johnny Klimek very active in the Berlin trance / ambient techno scene. Together with Paul Browse ( ex- Clock DVA), he realized on the Berlin label MFS projects Effective Force, 030 and System 01 was followed by a collaboration with Dr. Motte. Furthermore Klimek has also co-produced pieces by Paul van Dyk and Gudrun Gut ( Malaria! and Ocean Club ) in this period.

In 1996, he was as a bass player with the band of Nina Hagen on tour.

Then Klimek often collaborated with the composer Reinhold Heil. Their collaboration began in 1997 with the film hibernators. Together they are responsible for the soundtrack of almost all films of Tom Tykwer.

The theme music of the television series Without a Trace - Without a trace comes from Johnny Klimek. He also composed music for 31 episodes of the series Deadwood music.
