Johnny McDaid

Johnny McDaid (* in Derry in Northern Ireland) is an Irish producer, DJ, songwriter and singer.

Musical career

McDaid wrote for Snow Patrol, Iain Archer, Declan O'Rourke, Tonio K, Freelance Hellraiser, Helen Boulding and Bryn Christopher. He wrote the title song for the film House of Fools whose director Eva Isaksen was nominated for an Academy Award and produced and wrote songs for the Records Sony BMG, Universal, EMI, PIAS, Mushroom and Capitol Records. He collaborated among others with Paul van Dyk and was with the song Time Of Our Lives, a single by Paul van Dyk's Grammy nominated album Reflections ( 1999). With the number - one club Chartsong Home ( with Paul van Dyk ), he won the 2009 Trance Award in the category "Best Song."

He is currently working with the artists Karima Francis, Gary Go, Joe Echo, Tim Myers of One Republic, Example, Rosi Golan and Paul van Dyk together for his upcoming album. He wrote in 2011 in the show Our song for Germany a song for the Euro Vision Song Contest winner Lena Meyer -Landrut called I like You ( with Rosi Golan ), which it has, however, not make it into the final round. He often occurs with Snow Patrol on tour and in radio shows. He plays keyboards and guitar and sings. McDaid mixes and decreases with the SSL Matrix desk on.
