Johnny McDowell

Johnny McDowell ( born January 29, 1915 in Delavan, Illinois, † June 8, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) was an American race car driver.

Johnny McDowell was in the 1930 racing mechanic and amateur racers. He drove Midget car racing and worked as a race mechanic for the race team of Frank Wearne, whose vehicles were also in the 500 miles of Indianapolis at the start.

In the 1940s, McDowell became a professional racing driver and one of the best U.S. Midget pilots. Four times McDowell was as a driver at the Indy 500 at the start.
