Johnny Tyler

Johnny Tyler ( born February 6, 1918 in Arkansas when Lehman Monroe Tyler, † September 25, 1961 in Missouri) was an American country musician. His best known title is Okie Boogie. Tyler was stylistically to Country Boogie.

Life

Career in the 1940s

Tyler began his career in 1945 at Stanchel Records with the band Original Hillbillies. In 1947 he signed a recording contract with RCA Victor, where he had his greatest successes during his career. His most famous piece is the Okie Boogie, a hillbilly boogie song, the well-placed in the Billboard charts. The song was recorded on 29 January 1947, published in the same year. In addition to other singles such as Old McDonald 's Boogie, I Never See My Girl Alone or Jealous Blues Tyler also played with Luke Wills an eight plates. Tyler was also a member of Wills ' band, the Rhythm Busters for some time. During all this time lived and Tyler worked in Hollywood, California. Tyler's band consisted of different people. Permanent Begeleiter have included George Chumura (guitar) and Richard A. Hamilton ( guitar).

Career in the 1950s and death

In 1953 he started in Atlanta, Georgia to occur at the radio station WGST. He was a member of the band Jimmie Smith and his Texans, the nightly performances at Joe Cotton Rhythm Ranch disputed. At the same time he played some singles at a Specialty. In 1954, he was heard in addition to regular appearances at WGST in the WSB Barn Dance in the Jimmy Smith and his band was a member. His last records played a Tyler at Ekko and Starday, including Lie To Me, Baby. The same single was re-released in 1960, a year before his death, at Rural Rhythm.

Johnny Tyler died on 25 September 1961 at the age of only 43 years. 2006, a CD of his RCA titles has been published.
