Joice Mujuru

Joice Mujuru ( born April 15, 1955 at Mount Darwin District ) is Vice President of Zimbabwe.

Life

Joice Mujuru left with 18 years ahead of the secondary school to take part in the war for the independence of Zimbabwe. During this period, she wore the name Teurai Ropa ( German: Blood spatter ). It belonged to the General Staff of the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army ( ZANLA ). In 1977 she married the officer and politician Solomon Mujuru ( 1949-2011 ), the deputy commander of the ZANLA was. In the same year she became a member of the central cabinet of Zimbabwe African National Union ( ZANU ) and Secretary for Women's Affairs. After the war, she graduated from the school and earned a college degree. In 1980 she was appointed to the Zimbabwean cabinet, first as its youngest member.
