Joke van Beusekom

Joke van Beusekom ( born June 23, 1952 in Wassenaar ) is a Dutch former badminton player.

Career

Joke van Beusekom won in their home countless championship titles in the double disciplines and in singles and is the most successful Dutch national badminton player ever. Internationally, no one can outdo from the Netherlands in the Erfolgsstatastik so far. She won bronze at the European Championships in 1968, 1972, 1974 and 1978 and won, among others, at the Swedish Open, Canada Open, Denmark Open, Irish Open and the Belgium Open. As the biggest success of her career, however, remains winning the silver medal in women's doubles with Marjan Ridder at the World Championships in 1977. At the 1972 Summer Olympics, where badminton was played as a demonstration sport, she divorced in mixed and single out in the first round.
