Jolly Joker is a television series, which was created in co-production between Germany, Austria, Italy and Luxembourg. From the German side, the ARD involved in the production. Directed by Marco Serafini created between 1989 and 1991 with 21 episodes Stefan Fleming and Paul Hubschmid in the lead roles. It is conceived as a parody of James Bond and other adventure strips.

Content

The playboy Christiansborg is a jet-setting playboy, as he is in the book - but constantly broke. So he gets usually in embarrassing situations from which his uncle Arthur Brecht have to rescue him, mostly in the form of debt repayment. Arthur Brecht himself is very wealthy millionaire, but very stingy. Therefore, Christian Brecht gets even in emergency situations never money, although he almost always tries to pump him.

Instead, Brecht sends his nephew around the globe - everywhere to where Arthur Brecht industrial enterprises to run. Should it come in a location problems, Christian travels on the spot and take care of the matters which have mostly emulate with crooks, gangsters, terrorists and black marketeers.

He will be supported always by Anette, the assistant to Arthur Brecht. She is a Tüftelgenie and equips Borg (similar to Q in the James Bond films ) before each use with all kinds of weapons and other gadgetry, which should help him in his missions.

Production

Similar to the successful ARD series " On the move " plays the series alongside several European and in many international locations, including South America and Africa. In guest roles many later spectacle sizes are always occurred, including Jennifer Nitsch, Désirée Nosbusch Anouschka Renzi, Herbert Fux, Miro Nemec, Corinna Drews, Ludger Pistor and Albert Fortell.

The title song " Jolly Joker" was the former Manfred Mann's Earth Band - composed and sung frontman Chris Thompson.
