Jon Huntsman, Sr.

Jon Meade Huntsman senior ( born 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho ) is an American industrialist.

Huntsman is the founder of Huntsman Corporation and a member of the Forbes 500 He now lives near Salt Lake City, Utah.

Huntsman senior grew up poor in Idaho or California, studied by means of scholarships at the Wharton School, worked as a clerk at the White House in the run of President Richard Nixon era, and worked for Dow Chemical, before he founded his own company.

Huntsman senior donates generous amounts charitable and academic purposes, not least for the benefit of the Huntsman Cancer Institute (Huntsman Cancer Institute ). Besides today's main building from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania was named after him and the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business, as well as the main arena of the University of Utah. He is a member of the Mormon Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints.

His eldest son, Jon Huntsman Jr., was from 2004 to 2009 governor of Utah.
