Jón Jósep Snæbjörnsson

Jón Josep Snæbjörnsson or short Jónsi ( born June 1, 1977 in Akureyri ) is an Icelandic pop singer.

Growing up in the north of Iceland in 1997, he came to the capital Reykjavík. There he was lead singer of the newly formed pop-rock band Í Svörtum Fötum with whom he had released four albums in the 2000s.

He was selected by a jury to represent his country at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2004 in Istanbul. There he came up with the ballad Heaven at number 19 for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, he won the preliminary round with singer Greta Salome. Together they carried before the subsequently translated into English Title Never Forget, which enabled them to qualify for the four days later held the final of the Euro Vision Song Contest.
