Jon Klemm

Jon Klemm ( born January 8, 1970 in Cranbrook, British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach. During his career he was active among others for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League, with which he could win the Stanley Cup in 1996 and 2001. Overall, he played 16 seasons in the NHL.

Career

Terminal began his career in 1987 in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League with the Seattle Thunderbirds. Only a year later, the defender moved within the league to the Spokane Chiefs. There clamping became one of the service providers and was one of the best point defender on the team. Already in its first year, the Canadian scored 40 points scorer in 66 games. It was followed by two more quite successful years in which the right-handed shooter could increase again. Klemm's best year was also his last with the Chiefs. In the season 1990/91 the Canadians scored 74 points scorer in 87 games.

Jon clamping joined then in the summer of 1991 as a free agent the Quebec Nordiques of the NHL to, but mostly put it in the American Hockey League in their former farm team, the Halifax Citadel. However, the defender got the chance to prove himself in the NHL. In the four years, the terminal was at the Nordiques under contract, however, he came up with only 15 NHL games. After the team ran into financial difficulties and was ultimately sold to an investor group from Denver in 1995, the Quebec Nordiques called themselves henceforth Colorado Avalanche. The 1995/96 season was for the learned defender Extremely finally successful, as he became a regular player and could win the Stanley Cup with the new team. Five years later, the Canadians repeat this success with the Avalanche and won with the franchise again the North American Championship.

In the aftermath of defensive players joined the International Hockey League for the San Antonio Dragons. During the season 2003 /04 he moved back to the NHL, however. There he signed a contract with the Dallas Stars, where he became also one of the service providers and almost all main round matches completed. The Game 2004 /05 put the then 34 -year-old from due to the lockout. It was followed by two more years at the stars before to clamp in the summer of 2007, the Los Angeles Kings joined, for which he, however, only 22 times wearing the jersey and was often used in the AHL with the Manchester Monarchs. His contract was not renewed at the end of the season.

For the season 2008/ 09 Jon clamping finally signed a contract with the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, which was his last season as an active hockey player. Following the Canadians took over the 2009/10 season a coach Hardy Sauter on to assist in the Western Hockey League with the Spokane Chiefs.
